COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Sept. 16, 2013 — Kaman Precision Products | Measuring has released digiVIT, a digital inductive linear displacement sensor with a self-tuning bridge.

The eddy current device does not require a PC connection to perform a calibration; all functions can be accessed through four pushbuttons on the front panel. It detects the sensor coil parameters with the target being used, enabling the bridge that balances the circuit to be automatically tuned for that calibration range and target material. It performs with any manufacturer’s inductive sensor.

The sensor also features temperature compensation and zeroing; scrolling menus for setup and calibration; and Ethernet communication. Applications include position, vibration and proximity sensing; part sorting; process control; laboratory and engine dynamics testing; and condition monitoring.
