KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 4, 2013 — Brunson Instrument Co. has released its next-generation AlignCam, a camera-based measurement and inspection system that is compatible with the company’s current line of alignment telescopes, levels and transits. The instrument includes a digital camera and CCD sensor with proprietary TeleView software and an instrument adapter for on-site user installation. To set up, the field technician connects the camera assembly to the optical instrument and plugs the USB cable into the camera and computer. The system provides a live image and continuous feedback on sight lines, allowing a technician to achieve precision alignments in the field. The device’s mobile option allows a single operator to view the image on a mobile device anywhere in the work space or around the world. This optional kit includes a laptop computer, remote viewer, wireless router and network cable. It is suitable for applications such as turbomachinery center lines, drive system alignment for shipbuilding, roller alignment in many types of process machinery, and precision leveling of machine bases.
