PITTSBURGH, Oct. 8, 2013 — The MPS-SV series vertical translation stages from Aerotech Inc. offer 0.05-µm minimum incremental motion and are engineered for applications ranging from laboratory research to production processes. The two models, MPS50SV and MPS75SV, come with a multitude of adapter brackets and mounting arrangements that permit assembly of multiaxis configurations using linear, rotary and lift stages. The stages use a precision-ground ball screw and preloaded cross-roller bearings for geometric performance, accuracy and repeatability; the MPS50SV also is offered with a leadscrew. The drive train mechanics have no belts or high-wear-rate components. Motor options include a DC servomotor with rotary encoder and stepper motor. A precision-machined wedge design and lateral constraint system produce high stiffness and load capacity. The MPS-SV stages are available with vacuum preparation to 10−6 t, including a vacuum-rated connector. An optional plate provides direct mounting to both English and metrical optical breadboards.
