WREXHAM, Wales, Oct. 10, 2013 — Porvair Sciences has introduced next-generation ultraflat Krystal glass-bottom microplates for imaging cell growth.

They are manufactured using a proprietary process that produces optimal light transmission and an ultraflat optical plane (±15 µm). The complete range of 24-, 96- and 384-well models is available either sterilized to optimize cell growth, or nonsterile for assay development.

Deep-black plates are available for fluorescent studies; brilliant-white plates provide increased sensitivity for luminescence and absorbance work. The high optical clarity of the base simplifies positioning and focus when used with confocal microscopes. The microplates are compatible with robotic devices and instruments for automated liquid handling, and all are supplied with lids.
