FARMINGTON, Conn., Nov. 1, 2013 — Trumpf Inc. has enhanced its LensLine sensor system for 2-D laser cutting machines by combining it with a radio-frequency identification (RFID) lens for condition monitoring. The RFID lens is now a standard feature on all Trumpf TruLaser 3000 machines with a CO2 laser. When high-power lasers cut sheet metal, dirt particles accumulate on the focusing lens in the laser cutting head, requiring the machine operator to check, clean or replace the lens.
