PROVIDENCE, R.I., Nov. 14, 2013 — Meller Optics Inc. is offering sapphire in any configuration and grade, ranging from raw material to finished optics, for industrial applications.

The sapphire is available in all material grades, from mechanical nonoptical to defect-free optical and wavelength transmission products in all orientations with no lattice distortion. It is available as blocks, lenses, carriers, wafers, windows and domes in a variety of configurations and sizes from 0.5- to 5-in. optical density, ±0.00025 in.

Featuring Moh 9 hardness, the sapphire can be finished to 1/10-per-wave flatness per inch, parallelism to 2 arcsec and surface finishes to 10-5 scratch-dig per MIL-PRF-13830, depending upon material and configuration. Lenses are available planoconvex and concave, biconvex and concave, and meniscus; windows and substrates can be plane, wedged and tapered.
