The Orion/PD from Ophir Optronics Inc. was designed to provide a low-cost laser power meter for industrial, medical and scientific applications. The Orion/PD supports the company's photodiode heads in the 200- to 1800-nm range. Smart connector heads automatically configure and calibrate the meter, which can be used for up to 18 hours without recharging the battery. Conductive shielding protects the Orion/PD from electromagnetic interference, making it suitable for use with pulsed lasers.
