The ISL29125 RGB digital light sensor from Intersil Corp. optimizes the display resolution and color quality of mobile devices and televisions in all lighting environments. The sensor communicates directly with a device’s core processor to automatically adjust display brightness. Its on-chip IR-filtering technology, along with its angular response of a minimum of ±35% field of view at 50% light intensity, eliminates display fluctuations caused by changing light conditions, improving a display’s clarity. The 1.65 × 1.65 × 0.75-mm device offers an operating voltage of 2.25 to 3.63 V. In power-down mode, it consumes <0.5 μA of current, while active mode runs on approximately 85 μA.
