Graded Reflectivity Mirrors (GRM), also known as Gaussian mirrors, are used as cavity optics within unstable laser resonators. These mirrors are often used with Nd:YAG (1064nm) lasers, however they can also be designed for use in other laser systems. BMV Optical Technologies produces these specialized mirrors in a wide range of sizes, substrate materials and operational wavelengths. Typical sizes range from 6mm to 50mm diameter and fused silica, BK-7 or ZnSe are most the common substrate materials. The radially diminished reflective coating profile is designed specifically to match the Gaussian, or super Gaussian, characteristics of the resonator.

Along with GRMs, BMV Optical Technologies manufactures a wide range of custom optics such as lenses, beamsplitters, laser mirrors, etalons, thin-film coatings and many others.
