TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., June 9, 2014 — With a monolithic design for beam pointing stability, the SLC 30W Fiber Laser Isolators from Electro-Optics Technology protect pulsed fiber lasers from back reflections during marking and engraving applications.

The SLC isolators have 60 percent less magnetic material, making them lighter and easier to install. Minimal beam distortion allows for distinct part marking.

The devices include an integrated beam expanding telescope with a 7.5-mm diameter output beam, suited for most marking applications.

GLOSSARY
fiber laser
A laser in which the lasing medium is an optical fiber doped with low levels of rare-earth halides to make it capable of amplifying light. Output is tunable over a broad range and can be broadband. Laser diodes can be used for pumping because of the fiber laser's low threshold power, eliminating the need for cooling.
isolator
A device intended to prevent return reflections along a transmission path.
