Yellow Picosecond Pulsed Diode Laser

BERLIN, June 30, 2014 — A new yellow 560 nm diode laser head from PicoQuant supports pulsed and CW operation for applications in biophotonics.

The laser’s pulse duration is as short as 80 ps and has a center wavelength of 561 nm &plusmin; 3 nm. The repetition rate is from a single shot to 80 MHz; full width at half maximum is < 80 ps at an average power of 0.2 MW at 40 MHz repetition rate. The average output of power in CW mode is 5 MW.

The laser is suited for exciting fluorescent proteins like mCherry, RFP or DsRed, and fluorescent dyes such as CY3 or Atto565. Other applications include semiconductor characterization and quality control.
