LINCOLN, Neb., Aug. 13, 2014 — Measuring leaf-area indexes in all uniform sky conditions, the LAI-2200C Plant Canopy Analyzer from LI-COR nondestructively monitors agriculture to identify changes in crop productivity.
The device reveals fields that may be underproducing due to moisture levels, hail damage, pests or other factors. Employing gap fraction analysis, the LAI-2200C indirectly senses plant canopy structure and provides the correct field of view for specific agricultural situations.
While previous technology could only measure leaf-area indexes at certain sun angles or cloud cover, the LAI-2200C’s light-scattering correction software eliminates many of those parameters to increase the instrument’s application.
