RICHMOND, British Columbia, Canada, Sept. 4, 2014 — The new BA410E microscope by Motic provides improvements in optics, illumination and staging, and expanded opportunities for education, clinical analyses and routine and research microscopy.

The series features brightfield phase contrast, polarized light and fluorescence. It uses multicoated EC-H Plan APO lenses to enhance image contrast and resolution, with a six-place nosepiece that offers capacity for multiple imaging modalities. The series touts a 175 × 145-mm format stage and a mechanical stage that measures 80 × 53 mm.

fluorescence
The emission of light or other electromagnetic radiation of longer wavelengths by a substance as a result of the absorption of some other radiation of shorter wavelengths, provided the emission continues only as long as the stimulus producing it is maintained. In other words, fluorescence is the luminescence that persists for less than about 10-8 s after excitation.
