HAMBURG, Germany, Sept. 11, 2014 — New objectives lenses from Olympus are designed to accelerate data collection in deep-tissue imaging using multiphoton excitation (MPE) and light-sheet microscopy. The XLPLN10XSVMP and XLSLPLN25XGMP offer an 8-mm working distance and support for a range of refractive indices and a transmittance range from 400 to 1600 nm. Spherical aberrations are corrected across the visible-to-IR range, with additional chromatic aberration correction in the IR range. Both lenses are suited for working with a variety of sample clearing agents. The objectives enable the interrogation of large intact samples (such as whole-brain high-resolution imaging) and structural and molecular analysis of large assembled biological systems.
