BARRINGTON, N.J., Sept. 23, 2014 &mdah; Silver Series telecentric measuring lenses from Edmund Optics are now available in 0.5×, 0.75× and 2.0× primary magnifications with in-line illumination.

The lenses are optimized for both on-line and off-line machine vision production environments that require accurate measurements. They correct perspective errors that yield magnification variations through the depth of field.

The lenses feature high light throughput (f/6), a simplified non-focusing mechanical design and an adjustable iris control. They are suited for the inspection of specular and semi-specular parts such as those used in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.

telecentric lens
There are three types of telecentric lenses: -Image-space telecentric lenses are those in which the aperture stop is located at the front focus, resulting in the chief rays being parallel to the optical axis in image space; i.e., the exit pupil is at infinity, as in the diagram below.    -Object-space telecentric lenses have their aperture stops at the back focus, resulting in the chief rays being parallel to the optical axis in object space;...
