AUBURN, Mass., April 7, 2015 — The H-860KMAG six-axis motion simulator “shaker” hexapod by PI (Physik Instrumente) LP is suitable for high-speed motion and vibration simulation, including simulation of camera shake. The device is driven by noncontact voice-coil linear motors and guided by frictionless flexures. Lightweight struts in combination with stiff, zero-play flexure joints provide 4 g acceleration, operating frequencies up to 100 Hz and velocity to 250 mm/s. The six-axis hexapod motion system is based on a parallel kinematic actuator structure for six degrees of freedom. The user-defined pivot point (center of rotation) can be changed on the fly with one software command. Predefined trajectories, curves and freely definable paths can be tracked with the included software.
