PROVIDENCE, R.I., June 16, 2015 — Laser Research Optics sapphire windowsSapphire fiber laser windows from Laser Research Optics (a division of Meller Optics Inc.) are designed for larger industrial cutting lasers from 4 kW and up.

Capable of withstanding steel splatter, flash and debris, the windows are a longer-lasting replacement for debris shields on 1064-nm industrial cutting lasers. Reducing the typical number of lens changes, the windows feature Moh 9 hardness, second only to diamond.

Available in 1- to 2-in. sizes, the sapphire windows have a 10-5 scratch-dig finish, ¼ wave flatness and antireflection coatings on both sides.
