SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 19, 2015 — Spectra-Physics VGEN-G-HEThe VGEN-G-HE line of high-energy green fiber lasers from Spectra-Physics Inc. delivers double the pulse energy and peak power of previous green fiber lasers.

The air-cooled devices deliver >200 μJ of pulse energy and >20-kW peak power at 532 nm. They are available in both >10- and >20-W versions. The lasers are ideal for continuous manufacturing of printed circuit boards, ceramics, batteries, solar cells, touch screen displays and other devices and materials.

fiber laser
A laser in which the lasing medium is an optical fiber doped with low levels of rare-earth halides to make it capable of amplifying light. Output is tunable over a broad range and can be broadband. Laser diodes can be used for pumping because of the fiber laser's low threshold power, eliminating the need for cooling.
