Gooch & Housego's Calibration StandardsThe OL 458-4F white LED-based fixed luminance sphere calibration standard is the latest innovation from Gooch and Housego PLC’s Instrumentation division. The instrument was designed for accurately calibrating micro- and telephotometers, image intensifiers, and cameras. When calibrating imaging photometers and colorimeters, the OL 458-4F can be used for photometric, radiometric, and spectroradiometric response and more! It serves as a NIST-traceable highly accurate diffusely radiating source.

The OL 458-4F consists of an optics head and a power supply. This enables remote location of either unit, making alignment or positioning of the source with respect to the instrument a breeze. The ultra-compact package allows the unit to be used in confined spaces, making it an excellent check source for factories and assembly lines.

The temperature is held constant giving a large temperature range for operation without suffering from changes in the output. The optics head has dual input sources with multiple LEDs in each source. The LEDs excite a phosphor allowing for a continuous spectrum across the visible range. The LEDS and phosphor were chosen for their long lifetime and excellent photometric stability. The sources feed directly into a 4-inch integrating sphere coated with our proprietary Optolon2 material, providing highly diffuse reflectance over the VIS/NIR wavelength range. The Orlando Instrumentation division is also committed to providing custom wavelength ranges and packaging to fit your unique implementation.
