Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. has announced the T4KE1 CMOS image sensor, featuring iris recognition technology and high IR sensitivity to enable advanced security for mobile devices.
The 2.1-MP sensor captures images for recognition with higher sensitivity than conventional CMOS image sensors by omitting the usual color filter in the pixel structure, increasing sensitivity in the near-infrared spectrum.
The T4KE1 has an optical size of 1/7.3 in. and a backside-illuminated pixel pitch of 1.12 μm. An image output of 60 fps at 1080p is featured.
