Deposition Science Inc. offers low-pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) coatings on ball lenses. The technique produces conformal, uniform coatings on ball lenses, from extremely small diameters (0.25 mm) up to 10 mm in size. Seamlessly coated ball lenses are critical for applications in telecommunications, and are a mechanically compact optical method for collimating the output of an optical fiber or laser diode. They can also be utilized in fiber-to-fiber, diode-to-fiber and fiber-to-detector coupling when access to the beam is required.

The LPCVD process permits the manufacture of a range of seamless interference filters, such as dichroic, cold mirror, single-wavelength, dual-band and broadband antireflective coatings.
