From simple fingertip control to fast-switching via TTL for automated imaging, the X-Cite TURBO offers a single solution for routine to advanced imaging applications.

X-Cite TURBO effortlessly excites common fluorophores from DAPI to Cy5 or fluorescence proteins from CFP to mCherry. With six high-power switchable wavelengths covering the UV to visible spectrum, researchers have the flexibility to add additional fluorophores for live or fixed cell imaging to their imaging toolbox.

The most advanced offering in Excelitas’ suite of X-Cite solutions, the X-Cite TURBO enables precision control over all aspects of fluorophore excitation. Illumination intensity of all six wavelengths can be independently adjusted to optimize exposure and protect samples from photodamage. In addition, X-Cite TURBO accepts standard 25mm filters to further define the exact bandwidths of light entering the light guide, maximizing excitation efficiency without the extra cost and space required for external filter wheels.

X-Cite TURBO also features the inherent benefits of LED technology such as long lifetimes, mercury-free operation, virtually zero maintenance and instant on/off capabilities. Additionally, the intensity of each of the six, switchable LEDs can be controlled easily through USB, TTL or analog signals, providing researchers with a high-powered, fast-switching solution for simple to automated fluorescence applications.

The emission of light or other electromagnetic radiation of longer wavelengths by a substance as a result of the absorption of some other radiation of shorter wavelengths, provided the emission continues only as long as the stimulus producing it is maintained. In other words, fluorescence is the luminescence that persists for less than about 10-8 s after excitation.
