With its 800-line resolution and 62-dB signal-to-noise ratio, the DXC-390 video camera is suitable for color inspection applications in microscopy and machine vision. Sony Electronics' Broadcast & Professional Co.'s one-piece 1/3-in. three-CCD color video camera measures 2.2 x 2.0 x 5.0 in. and weighs 13.1 oz. It has a trigger function with strobe for blur-free color inspection of fast-moving items, and horizontal drive/vertical drive Genlock for use with frame grabber boards. The three-CCD design uses Sony Exwave HAD technology with 380,000 effective pixels, providing f/8 at 2000 lx sensitivity and 20-dB smear. The camera includes electronic shutter speeds up to 1/100,000 s, versatile white balance and auto exposure function, and provides RGB, S-Video and VBS outputs.
