HARPENDEN, England, April 8, 2016 — Automated alignment packages from Elliot Scientific include the company’s piezo controlled Martock Gold series flexure stages. The systems offer either 25 or 100 μm of advanced automated piezo-driven movement in 2 axes, and up to 2 mm of manual adjustment in 3 axes. A typical system, such as the 10 nm resolution Elliot Scientific E2323, consists of an Elliot Martock MDE123 Gold Series XYZ flexure stage with 25 μm piezo actuators, an Elliot Scientific 3-channel E1100 piezo controller and an Elliot Scientific E2300 USB-equipped DALi 3 interface for automated alignment. A PC or laptop for driving the software is required and can be customer-supplied or purchased. Uses include fiber launch systems for single-mode, multimode and polarization maintaining fibers, waveguide and photonic device alignment, and some manipulation applications in the biosciences.
