RICHMOND, B.C., April 29, 2016 — CMOS CamerasPoint Grey Research Inc. has announced the addition of 3.2- and 5-MP CMOS cameras to its line of Chameleon 3 USB3 Vision and Blackfly GigE Vision camera lines.

The cameras feature Sony’s second-generation Pregius sensors and set a new benchmark for global shutter CMOS by reducing pixel size and lowering temporal dark noise. A 3.45-μm pixel size allows more pixels to be packed into a smaller optical format, allowing a wider variety of more compact and lower-cost lenses to be used.

The Pregius IMX264 and IMX265 sensors offer the same impressive imaging performance as the higher-speed IMX250 and IMX252, but at lower frame rates and lower cost.
