EDISON, N.J., June 17, 2016 — Horiba Scientific has announced the PTI QuantaMaster 8000 spectrofluorometer, offering a signal-to-noise ratio of 30,000:1 RMS for water Raman.

The modular research grade spectrofluorometer is designed for steady state and lifetime measurements. It accommodates up to four excitation sources and six detection channels, triple grating turrets for extended wavelength range and can be used with single or double monochromators for superior stray light rejection. Time-correlated single-photon counting can be added to increase flexibility and adaptability, offering the fastest speeds, shortest lifetimes and offering a tunable UV-VIS-NIR supercontinuum laser from 260 to 2000 nm.

The PTI QuantaMaster 8000 series can provide spectral and phosphorescence lifetime detection coverage to 5500 nm.

GLOSSARY
spectrofluorometer
An automatic scanning instrument that is used to study a substance's fluorescence over a wide range of wavelengths. It consists of a radiation source, a grating that functions as the monochromator in selecting the exciting radiation, a second grating that serves as the emission monochromator, and a photoelectric device that is used to detect the emissions.
