TUCSON, Ariz., June 22, 2016 — SCMOS CameraPhotometrics has announced the Prime 95B Scientific CMOS Camera, built on the GSENSE400BSI-TVISB CMOS sensor with 95 percent quantum efficiency.

The camera is three times more sensitive than the current generation of sCMOS sensors with a greater signal-to-noise ratio than EMCCD cameras. The backside-illuminated sCMOS image sensor features single-electron noise and a >90-dB dynamic range without the need for deep cooling or complex electronic design.

The Prime 95B camera is optimized for low-light microscopy including single-molecule fluorescence, confocal imaging and superresolution microscopy.

The emission of light or other electromagnetic radiation of longer wavelengths by a substance as a result of the absorption of some other radiation of shorter wavelengths, provided the emission continues only as long as the stimulus producing it is maintained.
