sCMOS Camera SystemPrinceton Instruments Inc. has announced the KURO:1200B, a sCMOS camera system to implement back-illuminated sensor technology.

The device delivers both fast frame rates and high sensitivity needed for applications such as hyperspectral imaging, astronomy, cold-atom imaging, quantum imaging, fluorescence spectroscopy and high-speed spectroscopy. With back-illuminated sCMOS sensor architecture, the KURO provides >95 percent quantum efficiency and 100 percent fill factor, significantly reducing the fixed-pattern noise seen in front-illuminated sCMOS cameras and eliminating the need for the performance-limiting microlenses.

Designed for operation within the LightField software ecosystem, the KURO camera is easy to control and can be integrated quickly in many imaging and spectroscopy experiments.
