The AutoSEM 1 image analyzer from Advanced Research Instruments Corp. can be used with scanning electron microscopes for particle/feature size, shape and x-ray analysis. The PC-based system provides complete analysis reports including statistics in standard spreadsheet format. It also maps digital color-coded x-rays based on composition rather than a single element, and offers high-resolution digital image enhancement, archiving and inexpensive, photo-quality printed images. AutoSEM 1 can be used interactively or automatically without the operator present.
