UV alpha-epsilon long-wave pass edge filters for UV Raman spectroscopy applications have been introduced by Omega Optical Inc. Available for any wavelength down to 229 nm, they block scattered UV laser light with high optical density and transmit Stokes-shifted Raman signals. The company says the filters' a durable coating and environmentally stable edge location are due to ion-assisted deposition technology. They attenuate scattered laser light at optical density of four or greater and exhibit a steep transition from blocking to transmission with an extended region of high transmission.
