The Unidex 500 family of multiaxis motion controllers from Aerotech Inc. come in PCI and ISA bus formats. Each format has base, plus and ultra models, offering a choice of performance levels. The U500 PCI includes up to eight axes of motion control per card and features a 240 MIPS DSP, with single instruction per clock cycle execution, 48 digital I/O points, up to 5 MB of onboard memory and 62.5-µs minimum servo update. Other features are a 32-MHz input data rate and high-speed position-syncronized output for laser firing or data acquisition.
