1-01Advanced%20PhotonicsThermoelectrically (TE) cooled PIN ph otodiode hybrid assemblies from Advanced Photonix Inc. are designed for demanding low-light-level detection applications. They are suitable for use in analytical instruments where it is necessary to maintain high signal gain over a wide range of ambient temperatures, and their compact, rugged package suits them to industrial and military applications as well. They consist of a large-area, low-leakage silicon PIN photodiode and a low-noise, high-gain transimpedance preamplifier, all mounted on a single substrate and temperature- controlled by a two-stage TE cooler. The assembly is housed in a hermetically sealed TO-3 can.
