The GenesisPlus vision processor board from Matrox Imaging provides a memory bandwidth of up to 1 GB/s. The board integrates a Motorola G4 PowerPC microprocessor, which combines a 32-bit superscalar RISC core with AltiVec technology -- a 128-bit vector execution unit. It also works in conjunction with a coprocessor that delivers 6.4 billion operations per second, running at 50 MHz. This full-size PCI board has one or two processing nodes for integration into an image processing system for real-time image capture, processing and display. It also can be used as a stand-alone unit.
