Optra Inc. has released the SLD-1323 and SLD-1548 stabilized laser diodes operating at 1323- and 1548-nm wavelengths, respectively. The modules' wavelengths are locked to excited-state absorption lines in argon and krypton and are stable to better than one part in 109, with a frequency stability as high as 20 kHz. The 1-mW output is transported on a single-mode optical fiber and has no frequency or amplitude modulation. The laser diodes are suitable for absolute reference sources, for long-range interferometry and as master oscillators in DWDM applications.
