Biomatrica Inc. has released PCRboost, a reagent that enhances PCR and RT-PCR performance fivefold or more by improving sensitivity and specificity during amplification of genomic DNA or RNA templates. The product is available in three formats: a trial kit containing 150 μl; a 1-ml tube; and a 10-ml bottle. The reagent is designed to enhance the amplification of DNA without the need for time-consuming optimizations. It also allows for fewer PCR cycles and for the use of Taq DNA polymerases, resulting in additional time savings.
