PerkinElmer Inc. has released the Constitutional Chip 4.0 microarray for array-based comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH). It is a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) array intended to identify the existence and location of chromosomal gain or loss of DNA. Designed to be used as part of the company’s aCGH solution, the chip is composed of more than 5000 BAC clones, spaced at an average of 610-kb intervals throughout the genome, covering 25 percent of the human genome.
