Lightwave Logic Inc., of Wilmington, Del., a technology company focused on the development of electro-optic polymer materials for applications in high-speed fiber-optic telecommunications and optical computing, has appointed Jim Marcelli as chief executive officer, effective immediately. In his new position, Marcelli will be responsible for assembling a core management team that will develop and eventually commercialize Lightwave’s electro-optic polymer materials. Previously, Marcelli has held several senior sales, marketing and other top management positions at companies including Teradyne Corp., and Sanmina Corp., among others. He has also served as president and CEO of several start-up and growth companies. (8/6/2008)
