EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass., Oct. 6, 2008 – The vacuum sealed fiber optic assemblies from CeramOptec transmit UV, visible and NIR optical energy in and out of vacuum environments.
Suitable for applications that require remote monitoring or light delivery into a vacuum chamber, the fibers are helium leak tested and certified at 10-9 cm3/sec torr. Standard configurations include fiber from 50 to 2000 µm core/silica/silica fibers or fiber bundles with any number of fibers available. A standard aluminum HPS NW40 type or a 3/8- OD x 2-in. SS-303 feedthrough flange is available. A Japanese industry standard flange is also offered.
The product’s sheath is made from stainless steel gooseneck inside the vacuum and pvc monocoil outside the vacuum environment. Termination types offered include SMA, ST or FC connectors, or a ¼- OD X 2-in. SS-303 ferrule. It has a chemical resistance to kerosene, chlorinated solvent, toluene, ammonia and sodium hydroide 10%. It offers a temperature of -40 to 200 °F. Customized assemblies are available.
Additional applications include Raman spectroscopy, thin films, plasma research, semiconductor processing and military applications.
