ZURICH, Switzerland, Sept. 2, 2008 – Bookham Inc. has introduced a 20 W single emitter-based pump laser module for industrial applications.
Designed to target fiber laser and direct systems for material processing applications, it delivers 20 W of fiber coupled power into a 105 µm, 0.15 NA fiber.
According to the company, the increased power of the module allows customers to generate greater power levels for fiber laser pumping with fewer modules, allowing for more compact pump configurations, greater pump block efficiency and simplification of packaging.
It has a floating anode and cathode design, a robust coupling approach that delivers more than 80 percent coupling efficiency and it operates at wavelengths from 795- to 980 nm. It is designed to include current and next generation single emitter laser chips, enabling customers to easily upgrade systems.
