Innovations in Optical Scanning Probe Microscopy
Gary Aden, ThermoMicroscopes
The combination of optical and scanning probe microscopy offered by near-field scanning optical microscopes allows researchers to image the light response from small optically active surfaces such as gallium nitride structures, quantum dots, laser diodes, photonic bandgap materials, nanometer-sized polymeric light-emitting diodes and vertical-cavity surface emitting lasers.
