BLUE LED

The IF-E92B 470-nm blue LED from Industrial Fiber Optics produces 75 µW from the end of a 10-cm-long plastic fiber when driven with 10 mA. The company says it reduces fiber termination and installation costs. The LED features an industry-standard 1000-µm jacketed plastic fiber that can be terminated by cutting with a sharp knife, inserted into the LED housing and secured with a cinch nut. Its applications include optical sensors that monitor water turbidity and vegetation properties, and optical wavelength multiplexing.
