Discovery Semiconductors Inc. has enhanced its line of DC to 8-, 12- or 18-GHz bandwidth InGaAs photodiodes for 1.3- to 1.6-µm fiber optic applications to handle up to 200 mW of electrical power dissipation. The 28-GHz unit is rated at 100 mW, and the 40-GHz model takes up to 50 mW. The diodes are available in hermetically sealed microwave packages with single-mode fiber pigtails.
