The digital serial link (DSL) from PPT Vision is a completely digital machine vision network designed to transmit digital images, data and triggers bidirectionally at very high speeds over great distances across a serial network. It is the backbone of the company's new machine vision systems, one of which is the Passport DSL. In the DSL6000 camera, video data are digitized at the output of the CCD with a 10-bit A/D converter. Gain, offset, shutter speed and partial scan are configured over the DSL network through software. The system works under the Windows environment.
