Eastman Kodak Co. has unveiled the model ES 1.0/MV megaresolution CCD camera for the machine vision market. Featuring a progressive scan CCD and an integral electronic shutter, it can capture up to 15 images per second. Image capture starts within 20 µs of a trigger signal. The camera outputs 8-bit digital images with up to 256 levels of gray, and either single-frame, continuous or triggered mode may be selected. Digital video output is available on the rear of the camera. It weighs about 1.5 lb and is about the size of a cell phone.
