Alacron Inc. now has support for Analog Device Inc.'s (ADI) ADSP-21100 Sharc family of digital signal processors. The new chip retains code compatibility with the original Sharc so that Alacron customers can get the higher performance with no hassle, according to ADI. Operating at 100 MHz, the ADSP-21160 is optimized for multiprocessing applications and integrates 4 Mb of on-chip SRAM and 14 channels of zero-overhead DMA.
