Two video cameras that incorporate both 1/3-in. progressive-scan CCDs and the IEEE-1394-1995 interface are available from Sony Electronics. Both the DFW-V500 and DFW-VL500 are capable of 400-Mb/s data transfers and feature the company's patented Wfine CCD, which integrates a primary color filter to ensure high color accuracy, square pixels and progressive scan technology. Suitable for inspection, machine vision, ID badging and microscopy, the cameras can be controlled and powered remotely from a PC.
