Seiko Instruments USA Inc.'s fiber optics group has introduced the OFL-15 programmable polisher for me-dium-volume mass-production applications. The device can polish up to 16 connectors in 4 min and allows programming of up to 15 pro-cesses with up to five steps per process. The OFL-15 accommodates a range of industry-standard polishing styles and can process a variety of ferrule materials. Fiber undercut is typically 0.05 µm; ferrule endface curvature offset is guaranteed at 50 µm or less.
