The V-Module board from VisiCom provides real-time image and video processing for embedded systems. Its architecture is based on Xilinx's Virtex series of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The company says the device can replace at least seven discrete commercial VLSI chips. This embedded imaging process card has a single reconfigurable FPGA and design automation technology that provide reconfiguration capabilities and ASIC-like performance. The V-Module can implement video and image processing functions even while application, performance and functionality requirements change.
