Vitana Corp.'s advanced components group has introduced PixeLink imaging modules for OEM applications such as megapixel digital still cameras, camcorders, PC peripherals, machine vision cameras, biometric systems, security cameras and automotive devices. Based on PixelCam Inc.'s megapixel image sensors, the complete image-acquisition subsystem consists of a two-board set that connects the OEM-selected imager to an IEEE-1394 interface module. The IEEE-1394 protocol stack supports asynchronous and isochronous transactions.
