Lighthouse VL curing systems were designed specifically for UV curing of liquid and powder coatings on 3-D objects. They are available from UV Process Supply in custom arc lengths and in shuttered or nonshuttered versions. An asymmetrical curing system offers a reflector for high-speed cylindrical processing of nonrotating objects, such as cans. A 7/8 ellipse reflector is available with a 10-in.-deep focus for a curing depth of field of up to 5.5 in. The company says that the system offers uniform curing over the entire surface of complex shapes and that the air-cooled lamps can be replaced within 5 min, reducing downtime.
